What Do Your Favorite Books Say About You?

Tis the season of lists. Everyone -- including us -- is telling everyone about their favorite books of the year. But Flavorwire asks a question that is at once silly and salient: what do your choices say about you?
It’s the end of the year, which means every media outlet and talkative friend has been regaling you with a fascinating list of their own personal favorite books of 2011. Now, we love lists as much as the next guy, but we also like to think a little bit about what these highly subjective choices might say about the listmaker.
And like I said, it is silly. But pretty fun. For instance, did you like House of Holes by Nicholson Baker? You’re not alone, Flavorwire suggests “Articulate pervs” would like that one. What about Glen Duncan’s The Last Werewolf? “Heavily chastised ex-Twilight junkies who need just. One. More. Hit,” Flavorwire pronounces.

You can see the whole list here.

Meanwhile, January Magazine’s lists of Best Books of 2011 are rolling out as you read. Thus far we’ve looked at books for children, cookbooks and science fiction and fantasy. Look for crime fiction, biography, non-fiction and arts & culture over the next few days.
